When kind-hearted but slow Bob rescues an abused puppy from near the bar he works at, he strikes up a close friendship with his neighbour Nadia after asking for her help in nursing the creature back to health, and the two of them experience a mutual attraction. Meanwhile, the owner of the bar, Marv is busy operating illegal 'drops' on the property, and when a robbery takes place that leaves both Bob and Marv in an awkward financial position, as well as the arrival of Nadia's violent ex, Bob must decide whether he is to continue 'in the shadows' or whether he is to make a stand and fight, for the first time in his life.
Quite an intense, clever film, and I love how versatile Hardy is in his roles. He's never scared of portraying a complex character.
