Tamara Drewe used to blend into the background, as well as having the biggest, ugliest nose ever seen. That was years ago, and now she is back in the small village where she grew up attracting quite a stir from three separate men. Previously an object of ridicule she is now an object of lust that threatens the quiet inhabitants in a way that will end in tragedy.
I had heard quite a bit about this movie before seeing it, including the fact that it was a popular comic before being transferred to screen. Gemma Arterton is very good and seems completely comfortable in her character which is good, because she brings a strange eeriness to the film that becomes difficult to shift from one's mind even after the end credits role. Tamsin Greig is great as well as the faithful and devoted wife of one of the lust-filled men.
