Betty Blue - 1986 ***

'Betty Blue' has gone down in the annuals of film as a classic. It's poster frequented student walls and the morals of the story echoed and appeared relatable to so many people struggling with their own personal demons. The story is simple, but has been analysed to death. A struggling writer meets a carefree, predictable woman who enhances his fascination with the world. They become inseparable, but the writer soon realises his girlfriend is slowly going insane, and he can't do a thing about it.
A good, well crafted film? Yes. But definitely not a classic that needs to be remembered.
