An emotional story of domestic and mental abuse, 'Take My Eyes' charts the fall and rise of Pilar, a timid and mistreated woman who one day decides that she cannot cope with her abusive husband Antonio for another day. She takes a few possessions and goes to stay with her sister, but Antonio cannot handle this and seeks to bring her back home, by blackmail. However Pilar now has a new life, new friends, and a passion for a new job, something which doesn't involve Antonio. Very hard to watch, especially if like me you have been in an emotionally abuse relationship before. The French do comedy, the Japanese do horror and the Spanish do dramatic character studies like no other country in the world.
