What more can you expect from a 'splatter horror' than lots of blood? HG Lewis is the director of the aptly named 'Blood Trilogy' of which this is the last. After a freak accident, artist Adam Sorge realises that using blood on his paintings makes them more real, and goes crazy cutting and maiming people (and himself!) to create the perfect piece. He's a bit of an artist's Elizabeth Bathory, besotted with the idea of blood being some sort of magic potion that will make everything look better. I hadn't ever heard of this before I watched it and I'm not surprised, as there isn't much of a story-line going on when you get past the congealed blood.
