The Stranger Within - 2013 *

Oh lord this was a disaster. Not even for the shoddy story, more for the diabolical acting from Warren and Baldwin (does someone pay him to be this bad??). Warren's horribly botoxed face and whimpering attitude completely kills any scene she is in, and Baldwin's personality and wooden performance is enough to make you laugh. All in all a pretty ghastly combination.
Warren plays a traumatised wife who escapes to the Mediterranean for a getaway with her husband after a terrifying ordeal (I have no idea how her ordeal relates to the story or what the point of it is)and is greeted one day by a beautiful backpacker who is supposedly stranded and in desperate need of shelter. The couple take pity on her and invite her to stay, but no sooner have they done so than she is making passes at the husband and causing the wife to suffer an intense bout of insecurity. "Fair enough" you think, "but I'm sure it will all be explained in the end". Well, that is certainly one word for it. Utter garbage. Avoid. And William Baldwin, please for the love of God give up acting.
